Eibach – 25mm suspension fit
This guide refers to the fitting of Eibach Lowering Suspension to the Fabia vRS. All images are ‘clicky’ and will open a larger image in a new window.
Parts you will need are –
Eibach Pro-Damper (Part Number – E60-79-001-01-22)
Eibach Pro-Kit (Part Number – E10-79-001-05-22)
6x Skoda hexagon head bolt c/w shoulder M8x26 (Part Number -N101 277 07)
2x Skoda shouldered hex nut self-locking M12x1.5 (Part Number – N101 064 02)
2x Skoda hexagon nut self-locking M12x1.5 (Part Number – N903 213 02)
2x Skoda shouldered hex nut self-locking M10x1.5 (Part Number – N909 081 01)
2x Skoda shouldered hex nut self-locking M10 (Part Number – N102 861 02 )
Tools you will need are –
14mm Splined Tool
13mm Socket
16mm Socket
18mm Socket
16mm Spanner
17mm Spanner
18mm Spanner
6mm Allen Drive
T25 Torx Drive
T30 Torx Drive
Ratchet and Extension Bars
Spring Compressor’s
VW Special Tool 3424 or similar hub spreading tool
Torque Settings.
The first picture shows the OEM setup (minus the rear springs) whilst the bottom picture shows the Eibach setup.

Method –
I will assume that you have observed all safety precautions regarding jacking up your car including applying the handbrake, putting it in gear and chocking the wheels.
Remove the road wheels and put them to one side, under the sills of the car is useful should the car fall from the stands.
Remove the ABS sensor cable from the retaining clips on the strut.
Remove the nut from the top of the drop link where it connects to the strut.
Remove the nut from the top of the track rod end and separate. There is a special tool to separate these but if you don’t have one then another option is to undo it almost all the way so that the nut is screwed past the top of the threads and then give the nut a tap with a hammer.
Remove the large bolt from the hub clamp.
Insert the hub spreading tool and turn 90′ to open the hub up and the hub section should slide gently down the strut until it can go no further because the driveshaft is touching the chassis.
Because of the length of the strut assembly and the lack of clearance under the wheel arch, it is necessary to compress the strut spring whilst it is still fitted to the car in order to provide the clearance to remove the strut from the car. With the strut spring compressed undo and remove the three strut top mounting bolts remembering to support the strut as you do so.
Once removed it should look something like this:
You will now need to dismantle the strut assembly to recover the bump stop (5), bellows (6), strut top bearing (8) and strut top mounting (9).
Undo and remove the strut top nut and separate the components. At this point you can release the spring compressors from the spring.
You will also need to remove the ABS sensor cable holder from the OEM strut and fit it to the Eibach strut.
It is advisable to reduce the size of the bump stop.
Assemble the new strut assembly taking care to ensure that the top bearing is mounted correctly.
Refit the strut assembly to the car. It should be possible to fit the new assembly to the car without compressing the spring as it is now 25mm shorter. Ensure that all nuts and bolts are replaced where necessary and tightened to the correct torque. You should also take your car for a 4 wheel alignment check following a suspension upgrade.
