Key Coding

This information will enable you to code new or replacement keys to the immobiliser fitted to your car. You will need VAG-COM (VCDS) software, a suitable interface and the four digit SKC commonly found under a scratch-off panel on a plastic key tag. If you don’t have this unique code then you must ask your dealer to get it for you.

    [Login - 11]
    Enter zero followed by the 4-digit SKC.
    For example, if your SKC is 1234, enter 01234.
    [Do It!]

  3. [Adaptation - 10]
  4. Enter 21 in “Channel Number”
    [Read]
    The “Stored Value” is the number of keys currently matched.
    Enter “new value” of 0
    [Test]
    [Save]

    This clears out the old key-matching’s.
    Enter a “new value” corresponding to the total number of keys to be matched, including any existing keys

  5. [Done, Go Back]
  6. [Close Controller, Go Back - 06]

    Switch ignition off and remove key

  7. Insert next key to ignition and switch ignition on again.
  8. The warning light for the Immobiliser will light up for ~2 seconds, then go out
    Switch ignition off and remove key.

  9. Repeat step 4 with each key until all keys have been matched.

Procedure For Matching Remote Key Fobs To The Car:

Using a spare key switch the ignition on.
Insert the key to be programmed into the driver’s door lock.
Manually lock the driver’s door using the key.
Press the Lock or Unlock button on the fob once.
Wait for a least one second.
Press the Lock or Unlock button on the fob twice.
The vehicle horn will sound to indicate correct programming.
