Re-sealing Fabia rear ancillaries carriers - Thanks to Ross

Quite a few of you with a Fabia will be aware of water leaks into the rear foot wells through the rear doors. This is usually down to the rear carriers leaking and allowing water that runs down the window to flow into the car.

What should happen is this water should remain in the door slowly dripping out of the drain holes at the bottom. What can happen however is due to an insufficient seal between the carrier and the door this water that is waiting to drain out seeps through the carrier and over the sill into the car.

Parts Required - Kit Part Number HHC 506 750 which is sufficient for 2 vehicles. Approximately £43.45 Inc VAT

Step 1

Remove the door trim panel -

You will need to remove the winder handle, slide the collar out to the side and pull the handle off.
Remove the front end of the armrest/handle with a suitable plastic trim removal tool, be careful of the locking lugs.
With the rear section removed you can now see all of the screws that need to be removed inc the one behind the tweeter.
With the trim off you can now see the offending carrier.
